AI is for ALL just get started

AI holds immense potential, you know this! But, your organization is struggling to translate that potential into real-world value.

Here are some processes and strategies that can help unlock AI's power:

1. Identify Needs and Opportunities:

  • Data Audit: Analyze existing data assets and identify gaps. Assess data quality and relevance for AI implementation. Know the data you have to create the foundation for AI in your organization. Be dreadfully careful around GiGo, garbage in garbage out will kill the enitirety of your AI project.

  • Process Mapping: Analyze business processes to pinpoint what is best suited for automation or augmentation. The vast majority of you don't know just start with your conversations.

  • Stakeholder Workshops: Engage leaders and employees across departments to understand needs and concerns regarding AI integration. You’ll need bodies to move the mountain, engage them all.

2. Develop a Roadmap:

  • Prioritize Use Cases: Based on needs and data availability, prioritize use cases with achievable goals and measurable impact. Don’t do it all, because some solution promises to complete it. Prioritize, period.

  • Pilot Projects: Start with mid-scale pilots to test feasibility, iterate based on results, and build confidence. Don’t start too small or you won’t see any value. Incremental value is driven by incremental change, small change, small return, and mid-sized.

  • Model Development and Deployment: Choose appropriate AI models and tools, considering infrastructure, resources, and regulatory compliance. If you don’t have the team to deploy your model, look around and find solutions that do have it.

3. Culture and Talent Development:

  • AI Literacy Programs: Educate employees about AI's capabilities, limitations, and potential impact on their roles. Engage your information security teams to talk risk, and engage with front-line workers to talk about easing repetitive tasks.

  • Cross-functional Teams: Foster collaboration between data, IT engineers, business analysts, and front-line experts to ensure AI solutions address real-world needs. Most companies need the symbiosis between departments, systems, and tools that define the interconnectedness that AI can help augment.

  • Change Management: Address concerns about job displacement and build trust in AI's impact through open communication and upskilling initiatives. Give your best workers the chance to overachieve by actively engaging them, not just their leadership on how this can help them and the company.
